Spinning

really, Really, REALLY tough Interval spin class. There were moments during the class when I doubted my ability to make it through, but I somehow managed. Also seemed like my heartrate was constantly in the mid-160s up to 170-something. The summary revealed that I had hit a high of 212, but I don't think THAT at least was right (think I would have passed out or puked-at 212 - must have been a false reading).

Tuesday

I managed to get out of work early enough to get to the park here to do some walking and running. I sort of played the "heartrate" game while also playing that game where I ran (jogged) until I saw another person and then would walk with my head hanging in shame. There seemed to be more people out on the bridle paths running, walking and biking than I usually see. There weren't so many that it was at all annoying, but just enough that I had that nice, healthy, active feeling (like I was part of a lifestyle or something).

Oh, btw, I think we did around 3 miles or so.

Argh! I've been so bad about keeping up this log. I know I work out very inconsistently, but I have exercised since April! Sheesh!

Anywho...

Monday

Spinning class. I somehow managed to set my seat lower than I usually do and I really felt a difference in my legs, they fatigued a lot quicker. Also was a tiny bit harder on the knees. Otherwise a good workout and a good way to start off the week.

Forest Park

I managed to come home early enough tonight so that going to the park was actually possible. Lola has a bit of a bladder infection, so I've been hesitant to take her on a long walk, but she's been on antiboitics now since Thursday and it was a very cool and crisp day and she seems to feel fine, so I brought her along. We managed about 3 miles of walking and running (more walking than running). It felt good to be outside and moving a bit.

Tuesday

Got up early and went down to the basement gym in my apartment building. Did 30 mins on the elliptical and 10 mins run/walk on the treadmill -- that's all I had time for. I kind of like using my new heartrate monitor on the gym machines, the reading from the monitor shows up on the display console on both the elliptical and the treadmill. Cool.

Sunday

Did a walk run thing for a couple of miles through the trails of Forest Park with Lola. It ended up being warmer than I expected and thought that it was a bit much for Lola (especially so early in the Season) so I cut is short.

Later...

Basement gym: I did 30 minutes on the Elliptical and 15 mins run/walk on the treadmill. It wasn't too bad until someone came into the gym and got on the other treadmill and kind of killed my enthusiasm.

I Ran...

...sort of. Beautiful day, pathetic effort in Forest Park. I walked, with intervals of running, about 3+ miles on the roads and trails of the Park (plus the half a mile or so to and from the Park). I wore my new heartrate monitor too and saw that my heartrate escalated just as high and just as quickly (power) walking up a hill as it did by running on the flat parts. Interesting.
